With the fast development of digital logic and fabrication in chip manufacturing, the operation frequency of digital systems is gaining a sky-rocket, thus bringing about great challenges to the designing of testing instruments and devices. Among the important facilities in the field of test, a pulse generator can send out not only pulses with continuously adjustable parameters, but high speed dumping of programmable serial digits and pseudorandom binary data, etc., as the digital stimulations used in data domain test, to meet the need of sequences and repetitive signals in digital devices and computation equipments, of fields such as telecommunication, radar, navigation and astronautics, etc. Thus, to conduct activities on research and development of pulse generators, which are used as general signal sources, is of both immediate meaning and long-term significance in satisfying requirements of modern test.In the recently years, the adoption of embedded systems in development and design of instruments and devices is gradually becoming a mainstream. As a report of my participation to Pulse Generator Project undertaken by UESTC, this dissertation concentrates on the topic"Hardware Design of Embedded Control System in Pulse Generator", achieves a detailed solution of human interface and instrument control by using an embedded system, and provides thorough implementations of both hardware and software aspects.Main contents of this dissertation include:1. tasks, solution and implementation flow of the control system in a pulse generator, by using an embedded system;2. expatiation of schematic design, PCB design and hardware commissioning of the embedded system mainboard and the LCD driving board of Pulse Generator Project, and explanations for key designs and improvements in version-2 circuits;3. the implementation, operation mechanism and schematic design of the pulse generator keyboard, which is based on the 51 single-chip MCU, together with the timing design of its port to the embedded system main board,;4. the installation of the software system, including Bootloader, Windows CE image and application layered softwares, and the tutorial of Windows CE driver revision and debugging, for LCD and keyboard;5. the access method, related parameters and configurations of the lower position controller port, and the operation steps of such communication between the embedded system and the lower position controller, in the application layered software.
