It has attracted the researchers'interests that people's interaction behaviours have been affected by internet communications. As self-disclosure plays an important part in the development of human relationship, the internet media's influence on it is consequently being paid great attention to. Study on this subject, on one hand, will benefit the research on the inter-media which can affect the way of human's interaction. On the other hand, it will also help us to understand the propagation between people. This paper will give a systemic pectination on the self-disclosure behaviours that occurred in the internet, utilizing the theories and methods comprehensively from relevant studies, such as communication studies, sociology, and social psychology. Starting from a new media, SNS, the characteristics of SNS communication is discussed firstly, as well as the embodiment of self-disclosure on it.Secondly, a survey on the users'self-disclosure behaviours in SNS is presented by both theory and profound interviews. According to the research, the differences of users'behaviours on self-disclosure lie in seven subjects, which, in the descent order of average values, are: hobbies, work and study, emotion, attitude, health, personality, and economy condition. Specifically, the disclosure on"public me"is much more than that on"hidden me". Male users are more likely to self-disclose than female. Users at different ages also behave distinctively. In general, college students self-disclose themselves more than high school students, while less than the on-jobs. The difference also exists at the users'self-disclosure behaviours to different objects. The self-disclosure to real familiar friends is apparently more than to general friends or strangers in the internet. However, the difference between general friends and strangers is not so notable. In a word, users aiming at social communication will self-disclose themselves more when there will be more subjects and the extention goes deeper.Next, this paper will discuss the media reasons for SNS users'self-disclosure behaviors from point of view of media and by the method of Joshua Meyrowitz's thought on the electro-media and social behaviours. The discussion on the scene alterations will help to know the influence of media on the behaviours macroscopically. Then characteristics of self-disclosure can be analyzed microcosmically through discussing the various identities of SNS media. In the end, based on the thought of relationship between individuals, SNS users'self-disclosure affect on the personal communications will be studied profoundly.
