For a school, the students'management is the most important content . In recent years, colleges and universities have been expanding rapidly in their sizes, as a result the amount of students has been increasing rapidly, and the amount of all kinds of information about the students has also doubled. It has become a very important task to manage the extremely large student information in the management of college teaching. On the one hand, following the old ways of working will consume a lot of manpower and material resources because of the heavy workload and trivial management, and it is also very easy to make mistakes; using a manual process; on the other hand, due to the rapid development of computer technology and application of universal access, students'information management needs computers to complete the work. Therefore, it is extremely important also necessary to develop a student information management software. Through such a system, it can be done to standardize management of information, scientific statistics and fast query, thereby significantly reduce the administration workload.This paper focuses on achieving the management operation of students in colleges and universities system by using the powerful database management capabilities ----Visual FoxPro6.0The system design uses Visual FoxPro6.0 as a development platform, describe in detail the use of project manager, the design and creation of database and data table, the establishment of the query file, the use of view; passing parameters between the form; the simple management of passwords and other data, using menus in the form, creating printed reports and other relevant knowledge. The management system can achieve the operation such as student files and student achievement's inputting, query, updating , printing out and so on.This system can be used for college students management. It is meaningful and valuable to improve the efficiency and level of school management, at the same time it can extricate more teachers from the management to complete better teaching tasks. In other way it is also important to policy-makers and managers of schools.
