Payroll management witnesses a great expansion since a document has been promulgated by China's Ministry of Education concerning the reform of personnel distribution system for colleges. Meanwhile, a new calculation method is on demand due to the constant fluctuation of individual income tax. Nowadays, many higher vocational colleges are formed through acquisition of local academies, so it's imperative to develop a new management system that embodies various calculation methods of the precursors. However, traditional payroll management systems adopt a fixed pattern of wage structure, that is, the payroll items cannot be altered. At present, the software concerned suffers great defects. For instance, payroll data remain at a low level of standardization, registering poor integrality and consistency, and mistakes can be easily found owing to the high work rate. In addition, traditional payroll management systems can only provide a fixed-type wage structure which fails to meet the individual needs. Therefore, I try to develop a new system which boasts integrality and consistency and can perform regulation of wage structure at any moment according to the alteration of policies or regulations.This thesis conducts the design of payroll management system for higher vocational colleges on .net platform. It starts from the brief introduction of the background and current researches at home and abroad, and then makes deep analysis on such tools as .net development, Access, VPN technology and UML modeling. Then it divides the system into 3 core modules (basic information management, account management and payroll management) on the basis of the payroll management procedures in higher vocational colleges, and analyses its functions and security. It also designs the sub-functional parts of the 3 core modules so as to meet the flexibility needs of the system. At last, it conducts detailed design on data, application and presentation layers of the system through componentization, and presents a program in .exe on .net platform.After the comprehensive testing, our system has been put into normal operation. This lucrative system has greatly improved the working efficiency of our clients.
