| This article mainly focuses on the new research area based on FPGA. It has two parts:in one part, FPGA based functional EHW is researched; and in the other part, mutilcore system based on NOC structure is designed.On the function-level evolution of evolvable hardware (EHW), two creative thoughts are described in this article. First, a new stucture of reconfigurable ciruict (an indispensable component in EHW), which name is CCN(configurable circuit network), is proposed and verified. This CCN structure connect function unit by using Benes topology, in order to replace the traditional MUX based structure. This CCN structure has more output path, so that every function unit can be involved in the evolution process to improve the efficiency while more resources can be saved. A new evolvable image filter is designed by using this CCN structure. Second, based on FPGA reconfiguration technology, function-level evolvable circuit design methodology and new design models SRM (Slice-based Reconfigurable Model) is proposed and verified. The characteristic of this model is that it combines the benefits of VRC, (virtual reconfigurable circuit) model and the FPGA bit stream evolution model. We redesigned the CCN structure evolvable image filter by using this model.On multi-core system based on NOC stucutre, this article has researched the packet data structure, router structure and router algorithm, resource network interface and so on, and then implements a NOC based Multicore system on altera StratixII FPGA array. After that, by introducing SD card driver, TCP/IP, and FAT file system into the multicore system, and based on MicroC OSII operation system, a video on demand application is designed and used to verify the NOC based multicore system. |
