Electric forklift has been widely used because of its own advantages, such as high energy efficiency, less pollution, etc. It is now a research focus in material handling.Based on this background, this paper finished the design work of a forklift driver&controller.After having analyzed the functional requirements of the forklift driver&controller, this paper gave out the overall deign scheme.Which used DSP chip TMS320F2812 as the control core and Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) as the drive motor.This paper divided the driver&controller into drive module and function module, and gave the control scheme of the drive module.The drive module finished the PMSM driving work, including power design, signal acquisition, rotor initial position measure and drive unit design.The function module is an extendion to the drive module.The design work of this module include the following elements:forklift walking signals giving and processing,universal design and protect design.Universal design can also be divided into two parts:user configuration & monitoring design,as well as programmable I/O design.On the basis of drive design and function design, this article also gave out the program design and system debugging.The result showed that the basic function of driver&controller has been met, and the design purpose has also been satisfied.
