PROFIBUS-DP bus technology and PCI bus technology have been widely used in various fields. Due to that the PROFIBUS-DP products with PCI interface are expensive and the demand for project test in the laboratory, the paper is designed for the PROFIBUS-DP communication board based on PCI bus.Firstly, this paper outlines the background and the significance of this issue, and lists the design requirements and technology indicators for the communication board. Based on the above, this paper discusses the overall design for the communication board. Secondly, this paper is designed for PCI bus communication with CPLD and PCI interface chip PCI9054, and for the PROFIBUS-DP bus communication with MCU and protocol chip SPC3. Thirdly, this paper discusses the software design of the communication board, including the development of drivers and applications program for the communication board with WinDriver and Visual C++. Finally, the author debugs the communication board and discusses the problems on debugging.The result indicates that the PROFIBUS-DP communication board based on PCI bus, designed and Implemented by the author, costs low and meets the engineering needs.
