Application And Research Of PCI Bus Interface Design

The technology of realization of an adapter to interface PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus is divided into two parts: (1) special PCI interface chips. (2) base on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) or CPLD(Complex Programmable Logical Device). The two themes are described in detail.The first part of this thesis discusses the thought of the basic data transaction, and developed a system of digital signals process base on PCI bus. First, in the first part of this thesis discusses the thought of the basic data transaction, transaction termination and interrupt on PCI bus. The second part of this thesis specially discusses how to use special PCI interface chip, the PCI9054 to develop a system of digital signals process and how to configure the inner registers of PCI9054.and then finish communicating with host computer base on the driver of PCI9054.The third part of this thesis discusses how to use FPGA to develop PCI interface. First, discusses the theory of FPGA and developing flow, and introduce some knowledge of IP(Intellect Property)Core, then use Pci_t32 MegaCore Functions to develop PCI interface and finish reading and writing memory.
