At present most of the researches on WSN at home and abroad are carried out in the simulation environment, which could not be the true and accurate reflection of WSN in a real application performance. While on some platforms of the existing hardware platform, only a small amount of data are transmissed, and the researches about transmission of multimedia data are relatively few. Therefore the transfer of image in WSN is a new field of sensor network research.This thesis is based on the research of design and implementation of wireless image transmission system. Firstly, it makes an analysis of WSN's architecture, features, the research and future prospect of applications, and makes comparisons between several existing operating system used in sensor network; secondly, in order to organize and manage hardware resources efficiently, on the basis of in-depth analysis of TinyOS operating system and the conditions of typical existing platform micaz, it successfully transplants TinyOS on the hardware platform designed by my lab; thirdly, for the need of the development and convenience of the upper application, it designs RF protocol stack in TinyOS and finishes the driver of radio chip CC2420; fourthly, at the aspect of application development, it designs and develops image transmission system and a host computer used to control command of shooting images and displaying the image; At last, it mainly tests the transplantation, RF protocol stack, serial communication modules, and the application of image data transfer. Results show that the image wireless transmission system based on TinyOS system and designed in the thesis can practice stably, finish image acquisition and wireless transmission and display. It lays a foundation for further research of the transportation of amounts of data in large-range wireless network.
