In recent years, the technology of position and navigation has been developing rapidly, and the application is also more widely. The Global Position System has been applied to national authorities, and has a profound impact on people's daily behavior of every aspect of life. However, GPS can not give an accurate position in Downtown Street, the tall buildings, the outskirts of the wild and the sea, which due to positioning signals affected by buildings, terrain, the differential positioning blind spots. In addition, a simple GPS positioning signal has not great information in their applications. But if we establish mobile network, the GPS signals can achieve mutual exchanging and the function would be greatly enhanced.Ad Hoc networks (MANET) is a new developing network technology in recent wireless communications. This network has not any fixed infrastructures, fixed routers, and all nodes are mobile and it can maintain communication with other nodes in any way dynamically. If there are two nodes can not be connected directly as the coverage limit, it can be learn from other nodes'packet forwarding. This requires the mobile node is not only a function of mobile devices, but also the completion of discovery and maintenance of routing functions to other nodes. It was originally to meet the needs of military application, the military communications systems need to have anti-destructive, self-group and mobility, but in civilian applications, especially in emergency situations and unexpected aspects of regional wireless network has a good prospect. This paper aims to design and implement a position system which integrated GPS positioning and Ad Hoc Networks, and achieving the transmission of the GPS positioning information by means of the Ad hoc networks. It composed by the terminal positioning device carried by individuals or installed in the vehicle, ships, and the Ad Hoc network nodes device.Practice shows that the GPS/Ad Hoc network positioning system can be combined with the both two advantages. It makes the performance improved and broadened greatly the scope of its application.
