The rise of information revolution wave at the late 20th century has a huge impact on the digital and information technology of army. More and more high technology has been used in the modern military field. Because of the large noise in tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, combatants need to use communication equipments to contact with each other. Therefore, how to design a real-time, high-reliability communication system has become the main content of the thesis.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the present development status of related technology. Combined with the requirements of practical application, the thesis designs the DSP-based voice communication system of armored fighting vehicles. The system selects TI's DSP-chip TMS320VC5509A to simulate voice encoder by software which is 16-bit fixed-point algorithm for G.729 provided by the ITU-T. The system can keep the transmission of digital voice at the rate of 8kbps by modifying and porting the ANSI C code of the algorithm for G.729.The FPGA chips EP3C10 helps DSP do logic control such as expansion of the RS-232 interface,RS-485 interface and Ethernet interface. The thesis describes the hardware design and software design of the system function modules. Finally, the thesis describes the related tests of whole system, which include hardware debug and communication interfaces test. The results show that the system board can work to achieve the desired results. This thesis provides a feasible method for the voice communication in armored fighting vehicles under noisy situations. For the improvement of digital and information technology of armored fighting vehicles, it has great practical significance.
