With the development of the IC devices and fabrication technology, more and more systems become broad band systems, such as the wireless communications and the electronic countermeasures.In this dissertation, the aim of research on Ku-band broad-band amplifier is done. Its working frequency band is 11-17GHz with the gain more than 20dB, the gain flatness better than±1dB and the output 1dB compression point more than 22dBm. This thesis has compared the resistor power divider and the Wilkinson power divider. Due to the insertion loss, the ripple of insertion loss and output isolation of resistor power divider is worse, the two-stage Wilkinson power divider is used. Its insertion loss is 3.5dB-4.5dB in 11-15GHz and 4.5dB-6.5dB in 15-17GHz.For better gain flatness, the micro strip equalizer which can make the gain of amplifier lower in low frequency is analyzed, including micro strip stub resistor absorbing equalizer and reflection isolator absorbing equalizer. The equalizer isn't used because the gain flatness of amplifier is close to the requirement.The amplifier use two-stage amplification with AMMC 5620 and AMMC 5026 from Avago corporation. The power divider is in front of two-stage amplifier. Finally, the gain of amplifier is 20-23dB, the gain flatness is±1.5dB, the output 1dB compression point is better than 22dBm in 11-15GHz and better than 18dBm in 15-17GHz.
