Virtual Roam Technique is an essential branch of Virtual Reality. It applies graphic image technology to remodeling the scenes that are either existent or virtual, and then employs 3-Dimentional Programming Techniques with the final aim to build a complete system accessible to the users just via operation of the keyboard or mouse. This very technique enables the users and objects in the scenes to interact with one another. Thus the users are able to feel what it is like to be personally on the scene. However, the application of Virtual Roan System has so far just been restricted to some business and a few academies in China. In rare cases is it applied to the secondary schoolyards. Therefore, the article herewith, theoretically based on Direct 3-D Techniques and with3Ds Max as the remodeling tool , elaborates Virtual Roan System remodeling Luxian No.2 High School.Initially, the virtual but lifelike scenes are programmed via coordinate changes, illumination, materials and textures of objects, sounds, texts and scene fogs with the employment of 3Ds Max and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to enhance the vividness while the users are roaming within the schoolyard of Luxian NO.2 High School as if in person simply by operating the keyboard and mouse to interact with the scenes within. The article dwells in the prior knowledge and technical details concerning the realization of the Virtual Roam System employing Direct 3D. The methods concerned can also be promoted as a roam engine to other designs or realization of Virtual Roam System with little or some alteration.
