Tunnel detection and measurement, one of the three cores of the New Austrian Method, can provide precise and timely basis for the feasibility of evaluating tunnel construction methods, suitability of design parameters, and understanding of the practical surrounding rock grade and deformation characteristics during tunnel construction; and also, it has decisive meaning in deciding the construction time for the tunnel secondary lining. Therefore, tunnel detection and measurement is an important method for the success of tunnel construction. During tunnel operation processes, continuous tunnel structural deformation monitoring is an important premise for safe tunnel operation.With the development of tunnel construction methods, long and large tunnels become more and more common during the present tunnel construction. However, traditional tunnel deformation monitoring methods have various problems in the present application environment, therefore, research on the new tunnel deformation monitoring system becomes an urgent affair. Based on image processing techniques, remote data transmission techniques, and specialized data analytical techniques, this paper developed a tunnel deformation monitoring system which was based on image sensor. The testing part of this system is composed of laser-oriented launching device and image sensor receiving device. The system collected data through field acquisition equipment, exchanged data through the field main line connecting multiple acquisition equipments and gate acquisition center, and the data collected from the gate center support the local analysis and detection and transmit to data server through network, and thus composing network automatic testing system.The main content of this paper is to develop a tunnel deformation monitoring system based on image sensor, to explain the implementation technique and the relating problems, and to discuss the actualization of remote data acquisition based on 458 filed main line.This paper is composed of four parts: First of all, it analyzed the present tunnel deformation monitoring techniques and relating equipment at home and abroad, and according to the present tunnel construction characteristic, proposed the necessity of this system, and finally, explained the design and relating techniques of the system.Secondly, it introduced the general design scheme, and discussed the function, structure, and main working principal of the models.Thirdly, it introduced the field application condition of this system, and analyzed the experimental data, summarized the advantages and disadvantages in the application of this system.At last, it summarized the achievement obtained in this design, and pointed out the works that need to improved and further studied.
