By the rapid development of the Internet in the past few years, some new technologies have been the characteristics of network. IPv6 and Grid is the typical representative of the new technologies, and the combining of the two technologies becomes the most attractive subject.IPv6 technology greatly expanded the amount of IP addresses, and makes all electronic equipment can have one or more IP addresses. Because of the shortage of IPv4 addresses, private addresses and address translation is widely used. It results many problems, such as the disappearance of end-to-end communication and the untrustworthy network.IPv6 not only increase the address length to 128bit, but also provides a simplified IP header, security properties, data flow, QoS, and other new features, these features support to construct trustworthy network applications.The Grid technique is the new computing technique brought forward in certain stage of computer technique and network technique. The Grid can be used to integrate the heterogeneous and dynamic resources that are distributed in the wide area network to realize the sufficient share and various resources associate. In this paper, the concept of the Grid is discussed, and evolution process of grid system structure is analyzed particularly. Furthermore, the content of job submission is studied.In this paper, the basic knowledge of IPv6 and grid is introduced; the grid infrastructure and history are also presented. Then, the advantage of combining IPv6 and Grid is discussed. Via the summary work of the others, the job submission handling mechanism has been studied systematically. Based on analyze of the popular grid application, a task submission infrastructure over IPv6/IPv4 stack is designed. Some topics of grid job submission are analyzed, include search resource, security, as well as the issues of heterogeneous, and proposing the solution ideas. Finally, with the actual situation, the realization of job submission system over IPv6 and a high-performance cluster are given. Moreover, the work which can be done in the future is also discussed.
