Sichuan Province, Doppler Weather Radar Remote Video Monitoring And Failure In Consultation With System Design And Implementation

As the rapid development of our national economy, meteorological cause has been considered as a basic social commonweal career with science and technology, which attracts more and more attention. In recent years, the investment in the national meteorological construction has been increased greatly. At the same time, the modernization construction has deeply stepped into all aspects of meteorological services. Meteorological observation technology and capability have improved greatly.Doppler weather radar is a kind of meteorological radar with advanced technology, stable performance and strong monitoring ability for disaster weather. Until now, 128 weather radars have been built nationally, with 6 ones in Sichuan province. They play an important role in meteorological service and disaster prevention and reduction.The equipment of Doppler weather radar system is very expensive and large. The radar needs to run the whole 24 hours in succession every day, which gives the system heavy load. Therefore, to enhance the video surveillance of radar operation environment and the maintenance guidance of long-distance video after fault is the most important means for guarantee of operation security of the radar system and the elevation of maintenance aging.The system is supported by the present mature technology of information network, multimedia, image processing, digital encoding and decoding, network transmission protocol of digital video, and some other technology platforms. The programming language is C++ Builder, and the communication transport protocol of video monitoring is H.264/MPEG-4 AV Video Coding Standard. The system is designed and implemented based on modularization.Through the system, Sichuan province atmosphere observation technology center can monitor the state video inside the radar machine room and radome. Then, the radar fault and hidden trouble of fire will be found in time and properly handled to ensure the security of radar operation and fire protection. At the same time, the system can be considered as the guidance of long-distance fault consultation and patrol inspection of the radar. It is still used for long-distance cause and technology training and experience exchanging. These uses increase the maintenance aging of radar fault and improve the service technology level and supporting capabilities of primary radar station staff greatly.
