China is located in the monsoonal area of East Asia, where the climate is very complex. Due to the weather factors change dramatically, such as precipitation, wind, temperature and others, there are a variety of meteorological disasters occur in unpredictable period and intensity. Therefore, weather radar is necessary for weather monitoring and disasters early warning, and all coherent Doppler weather radar is an effective way.The basic principles of Doppler weather radar will be introduced in this paper, and then the specifications of radar system will be allocated through strict calculations; furthermore, the antenna and feeding subsystem, transmitting subsystem and receiving subsystem are also designed.The all coherent pulse Doppler architecture will be used in this radar design, with low noise, wide dynamic range, single-conversion IF receiver and digital IF processor. A wide range of technologies, including radar, Structuralism, Aerology and Electronics, are involved in this paper. The main challenge is the allocation and calculation of the specifications.The purpose of this paper is to represent a C-band all coherent Doppler radar design, the designs of the subsystems are based on the modern mature technology. The author designs the structure of the overall system and subsystems, with detailed specifications allocation.
