Link aggregation technology, also called link bundling technology, applies in a number of network connections widely at present. Through making some links get together, it increases the bandwidth of network, and provides some functions as high availability, load sharing. IEEE Standard 802.3ad, propsed in 1999, made the standard and purpose for the link aggregation technology. The link aggregation technology is an application technology propsed for Ethernet. Specific implementation can use specific method in practical application. For example LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol),made by IEEE 802.3ad, and PPP Multilink bundling MP (Multilink point-to-point protocol), are both the specific implementation method for link aggregation. This thesis was not confined to one implementation method, and propsed that make the design and implementation of a bundle system which does not consider the type of the link. At the same time, bacase the traditional link aggregation technology focus on links not networks, using the implementation of link aggregation in distributed architecture can provide scalable bundle means and convenient operation for users, and eliminate the single point failure problem caused by routing equipment failure further.This thesis was based on a multi-link bundle system project, the work was making design and implementation of multi-link bundle system in distributed struct on software plane. After the research and analysis of the link aggregation technology and related knowledge. This thesis has had the overall design about Multilink bundle system:Through the research of the interaction between the bundle system and specific link, this thesis analyzed the relationship between the control plane and the data plane of them, and designed the solution; and devided the module and sub-module according to the function of the bundle system, finished the basic content of link aggregation by using the realized method for reference so as to make links that encapsulate different link protocols can use the same bundle mode to get together. Moreover, the implementation of the system is carried on the distributed soft-forward routing device, the fuctions of the general data synchronization and hot backup required by distributed device were designed in the bundle system. Then the implementation was carried by the developing and debugging tool. At last the fuction and performance test were carried in the experimental device.By the test, the bundle system reached the result that different links can use the same system based on the implementation of the basic function of link aggregation, and has finished the implementation in distributed router struct, and reached the stability.
