The electric vehicle uses electric power as its power source,realizing no emission in its running.Developing the electric vehicle is an important way to solve the energy and environment problem.With battery technology development,there are few differences between the electric vehicle and traditional petrol vehicle in the performance and efficiency.The use of electric vehicle is now being phased all over the world.This paper firstly gives a brief introduction to the current state of electric vehicle and CAN bus,then based on the CAN-bus characteristic and electric vehicles' application requirements makes an intensive study of monitor terminal and the CAN-bus development.1.In cognizance of real-time and multitasking particular circumstances for monitor terminal,selecte the $3C2440A processor to be the core CPU and expand wireless communication module,the satellite positioning module,and the CAN-bus module to build an embedded hardware platform.2.Work out CAN-bus application layer's communication protocol for electric vehicle.3.Use the modular programming to realize the CAN-bus driver software in order to ensure the CAN bus to communicate with the CPU regularity.The new points of this project lie in adopting the CAN-bus technique which is widely used in the automobile industry and designing a set of simple and highly effective application layer protocol.The electric vehicle monitoring equipment based on this technology realizes real-time monitoring and the data acquisition and obtains the massive primary data which supplies the important information for the research of electric vehicle key technologies.
