Due to territory division, variety of Chinese regional culture, featured in its distinctive characteristics, would rarely be found in other countries around the world. The cultures in Beijing and Shanghai with high reputation are known as origins of two cultural schools named 'Beijing School' and 'Shanghai School' in modern culture. In the world globalization environment, what are the differences and interaction of the mass culture in Beijing and Shanghai which depend on the booming of information technology and communication?From the culture aspects, this thesis adopts historical analysis, case analysis, and context analysis, et al to analyze the similarities and differences of mass culture between Beijing and Shanghai, and draw an outline of Chinese mass culture in early 21st century in terms of investigation of entertainment news in some representative entertainment newspapers published at Beijing and Shanghai.
