Applications Of Rfid Technology In Inventory Management

RFID stands for radio frequency identification.It is an advanced form of Automatic Idenitfication and Data Capture.It uses radio waves to record media literacy.There is some limitation on the application of typical bar code technology being used in control and logistics domain because forgery and low efficiency is not solved completely.RFID technology started to be used,it's advantage is shown obviously.It has high potential and prospects in materials tracking,carriers and shelf identification that require non-contact data collection and frequent exchange of data content. And it's application domain is extended more and more.Modern inventory involves in large variety of products.The inventory process management and structure is extremely complex,and often refers to large geographical span.Therefore,the request for accurate and timely information becomes much stricter than everbefore.Furthermore,nowadays the competition between supply chains has replaced the competition among enterprises.Supply chain cost reduction also has become issues requiring urgent solution.Yet it is precisely because of the lack of effective means of data collection and transmission,supply chain management meets high degree of difficulty.So there is an urgent need for a new way to change this situation so that the objectives of supply chain management can be achieved. The features and advantages of RFID technology can solve the above problems, and it also can meet the needs of the current inventory management.The disertation made a more comprehensive summary of the relevant principles of RFID and inventory management theory,and then did some system analysis job about the inventory management based on RFID. Finally, this paper is based on simulative environment of Ningbo Beifa Group, it analyses and designs its total product inventory management systems. Based on RFID technology, inventory management system Pen finished a systematic process, as well as database analysis and design and selection of the EPC-96 Standard RFID tags for the future development of enterprise. Meanwhile, we hope that the future of RFID technology will give some reference value to the study of inventory management system.
