Now with rapid development of information technology, information sharing and management become more and more important. Intelligent inventory management has caused wide attention in the clothing retail industry. How to make clothing inventory management and analysis effectively is very crucial of improving enterprise influence and economic efficiency for clothing retailer. Based on RFID (radio frequency identification) technology and dynamic replenishment algorithm, this thesis designs a clothing retail inventory management system. The proposed inventory management system therefore provides a reliable solution for clothing retail inventory management.The inventory management system design includes hardware configuration and software development. The system hardware is made up of QR4401UHF Fix Reader and antenna for receiving, reading and writing the clothing information and inventory information. In order to realize inventory simulation and inventory management, the proposed inventory management system combines with the Microsoft Visual Studio2010and C#language to develop software platform. At the same time, SQL Server2008is employed to store clothing inventory information.In order to strengthen clothing retail inventory information management, the proposed RFID-based system embeds electronic tag in the clothing. With the communication between the hardware and the backend database, clothing information can be read and identified immediately. After analyzing the clothing information, the proposed inventory management system could realize the stock locating and taking as well as fast storage function. In terms of inventory management improvement, this thesis then designs a stock simulation platform. After simulating and analyzing of common inventory strategies such as no replenishment opportunities inventory strategy, static safety stock replenishment inventory strategy and quantitative inventory replenishment strategy, the thesis puts forward the dynamic replenishment algorithm to optimize existing inventory strategy. The proposed simulation platform is then engaged to analyze how the replenishment algorithm factors such as safety stock, replenishment cycle and lead time influence the inventory management effect, say, Customer Service Level, Inventory Turnover, and so on. The purpose of the simulation analysis is to improve the inventory management for clothing retailing.On the one hand, based on the RFID technology, this thesis designs a clothing retail inventory management system to fulfill the stock location and inventory, warehouse management and other functions. The proposed clothing retail inventory management system therefore strengthens the clothing inventory information management as well as improves work efficiency and service quality of clothing retailer. On the other hand, combined with inventory replenishment algorithms the proposed simulation platform is engaged to simulate the common inventory strategies. Simulation results show the merits of the proposed dynamic replenishment algorithm. Appropriate safety week, frequent replenishment cycle and short lead time can enhance efficiency of the clothing replenishment strategy; the Inventory Turnover is improved while the Customer Service Level is maintained at a high value. In short, the clothing retail inventory management system provides an effective means to realize the intelligent management. It avails the retailers to manage inventory better in the process of operation and has certain reference significance for promoting clothing retail inventory intelligent development.
