Heating furnaces are major energy consumption equipment in the metallurgical enterprises. This thesis, taking the technical reforms of the heavy-plate heating furnaces of Jinan Steel Group as the research background, gives an overview on the development as well as the current situations of the control techniques of the heating furnaces home and abroad, introduces the major components, system configurations and functions of industrial control configuration software in the distributed control systems of the medium and heavy-plate heating furnaces of Jinan Steel Group, and has a deep analysis on MACS distributed control systems' automatic control theory over the burning of the walking beam furnaces, realizing double cross limit combustion control, flow control, temperature control of heating furnace, furnace pressure control, Gas main and air main pressure control as well as steam drum fluid position control and electric interlocking logic control, etc.Practice shows that the system is reliable and stable in operation and is convenient to be operated. This system can be effectively controlled if related parameters are correctly adjusted, which is of great popularization value.
