Millimeter-wave up-converter, as one of the hot research topics, is the key building block of the millimeter-wave communication systems. This paper starts by reviewing the history and development of Ka-band up-converter, and radicates the aim of this paper what is making the module integrative and miniaturization as soon as possible. Next, the integrity project of the integration up-converter is introduced in this paper. The MIC-MMIC technology combination is used to integrate circuit. In the all circuit, all of function cells are make up of MMIC, but the pontes of both cells use MIC. Following the require of making the module integrative, and using optimized method, design MM-wave planar band-pass filter, what is lower-insertion loss in pass band and higher restrain in stop band. At the same time, use film technology to enhance circuit precision, and ensure to achieve design aim. In the end, choose MMIC, and use MCM technology to make circuit miniaturization and integrative. This paper also investigates some technique how to machining circuit, such as wire bonding, mounting MMIC. Finally, summarize the test method.
