Parking Meter Bridge System Design

A more scientific and feasible solutions for parking is in a great need as the parking roblems in China are getting more and more serious now. The parking management system designed by our researching team is very efficient. A parking meter network bridge takes the role of communication in the whole system, which can transfer the information of the terminal to the parking information management PC and the parking handsets by CAN bus and also can transfer the information of the parking information management PC and the parking handsets to the terminal by Network bridge. Furthermore, it has the management functions such as showing the parking information, showing the hints etc.A parking meter network bridge is one of the important parts in the parking management system. An integrated solution of the parking meter network bridge has been developed based on embedded systems and communication technology. The hardware system was designed and accomplished , which includes LPC2292 as the core processor based on ARM7 system, the memory, CF card interface circuits, clock circuit, crystal and reset circuit, power management circuits, display drivers and key circuit, GPRS communications interface circuits, CAN bus communications interface circuits, radio frequency modules interface circuits. A communication protocol was developed based on the practical information transfer mode of the network bridge with the management computers, parking handsets and the information terminal. The software was designed and the system was tested according to the protocol based on the development of the hardware platform. The practical use of the system shows that the parking meter network bridge system reaches the design requirement with safe and reliable transmission and smooth communication.
