When coming to power, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) didn't realize the promise that the party would give up the running of media, instead, by revising laws, taking advantage of its ruling position, and economic measures, it has"greenized"and seized the media resource for a long time. Furthermore, DPP keeps spreading the messenges of Taiwan independence via the media, especially, influencing the public with negative reports on the mainland, which is obvious in the news reports on the mainland in the past 8 years.Constructivism is a popular theory of international relationship rising in the 1980s. Within the scope of Constructivism, the news report of media is built on interests and conceptions, vis-a-vis, the continuous reports build the audiences'mentality and conception, become the interests of the pubilc and affect their self- identification.Due to the limited access to the documents, this thesis mainly refers to two of the biggest print media which are typical in news reports of the mainland, namely"China Times","the United","Freedom Times".Applying to the theory of Constructivism, the thesis focuses on analyzing the interaction between Taiwan media and the public opinions from the reports on the Anti-Secession Law and donating pandas from the mainland during DDP's ruling period, aiming at revealing that the media associates the Taiwan"government"in creating the Taiwan locals'identity, identification and interests. The 1st chapter discusses the relationship of Constructivism, media and politics. The 2nd chapter, with the aid of the Constructivism, analyzes specific instances of the Taiwan media's reports on the mainland, esp., the typical reports on the Anti-Secession Law and donating pandas from the mainland. The 3rd chapter anticipates the future tendency of the Taiwan media's reports on the mainland, and proposes several countermeasures.
