Abstract/Summary:
Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS) is one of the hot point in digital hospital construction.Present PACS system mainly bases on C/S model. It requires professional technician to setup complex client program, so is not convenient for extension and maintenance, commonly applies to local network. B/S based PACS can manage medical image information in larger scale. It can reduce requirement for client station hardware, be easier for installation, upgrade and maintenance. It is one of main development point for future PACS.In this dissertation, it is analysed the development of PACS structure, the advantage and disadvantage of B/S and C/S model, DICOM image format and code, J2EE based web server technique, and Oracle database access technology. It is designed B/S based on PACS structure, DICOM brower, Jboss web server, and JSP database access mode.This study gives prime design and implement in PACS web browser based on B/S model and DICOM standard. It still need further development. The remain problems are web PACS with best performance, image indexing, and image compression and decompression on web. Although present B/S based PACS still hasn't reach the total performance of C/S base PACS, It is believed that B/S based PACS will be leading in future with the quick development of computer and communication technology.
