Petroleum industry plays as an important part in world economy, the sustainable development of which calls for lower production cost and higher product quality. However, the traditional method used for production monitoring is of low efficiency, high cost and low reliability. To solve these problems, a monitoring system based on the wireless sensor network is proposed. The design strategy, key technologies, communication protocol, and design of both software and hardware are well illustrated in this thesis.The node of the wireless sensor network (WSN) proposed combines wireless module and sensors, which is used to monitor the condition of oil well and the health of the equipments. Each node is an integrated sensor network, and its result will be sent to the monitor center. The WSN covers the whole oil field. Based on the idea of wireless sensor network, the single-chip technology is adopted. And, a novel transport protocol which using the FHSS technology in the CSMA protocol is proposed, which can effectively decrease the risks of collision and data losing during the transmission.Considering the oil field is large and distributed, an improved LEACH router protocol is proposed. Comparing with the stochastic cluster in classic LEACH protocol, this improved protocol makes each oil well as a cluster. Moreover, the improved protocol deals with the state parameters of the equipments more effectively. To charge the cluster nodes can prolong the lifecycle of the whole network.Self-designed communication protocol is adopted for its strong extension and high reliability. Taking the temperature monitoring as an example, the design of the software and hardware is well introduced. The software is hierarchal and modular, and there is user friendly interface between modules. The hardware is based on microprocessor CC1010 integrated transceiver, which effectively reduces the size and the cost of the each node. The testing results show the system developed work efficiently.The application research of the mechatronics monitoring system based on the wireless sensor network provides a better solution that effectively solves problems ?existed in the traditional monitoring system and improves production efficiency.
