Evolvable hardware utilizes evolutional algorithm and reconfigurable devices to design the digital circuit which can be like the living creature life to dynamically change the structure according to the environment. The circuit design based evolution,fault-tolerance and self-repairing system are the two important research areas in the Evolvable hardware field. Evolvable hardware can improve reliability and usability of electron system especially the electron devices which work chronically in the terrible environment.In this thesis, the principles and realization methods of evolvable hardware have been systematically introduced. Firstly, this thesis discussed the research work in details in terms of the concept of evolution hardware,application areas,researching status and trend of development, as well as programmable logic device. And also, evolvable algorithms mainly have discussed and many deep researches have been done on the basic application of evolvable hardware. Secondly, the basic principles and realization of evolvable hardware technologies have been analyzed in the thesis, and the detailed analyses of typical examples are also given. Thirdly, the experiments of the logic circuit evolution show that the method of evolvable hardware is practicable and the designed circuits are independent on priori knowledge and their functions are satisfying. At the same time, fault-tolerance and self-repairing system have also been carried out preliminary explorations.Finally, researches of the article are concluded, and some ideas of future study are put forward.
