Contemporary Chinese Public Opinion Research

Public opinion supervision is a very important form of supervision in countries of modern democratic politics. China's construction of socialist political civilization, need to improve and perfect the system of democratic supervision. Public opinion supervision itself is a key form of democracy, but also an important way to promote socialist political civilization. Therefore, the study of contemporary China's public opinion, has a profound theoretical and practical significance.This article introduces the concept of public opinion, in essence, nature, the main target, content, related basic theory and the background. In the light of the latest spirits of the 17th National Congress, the paper analysis the necessity and urgency of the public opinion. On the basis of introducing the content and structure of the political civilization, it indicates the dialectical unity relationship of political civilization and public opinion. In addition, it focuses on the contemporary Chinese supervision, and gives multilevel analysis on its problems and deficiencies. In integration of the three major internal elements of political civilization, how to improve and strengthen supervision is discussed. At present, the main problems in Chinese public opinion domain are, lack of relaxed social environment for supervision, supervisory mechanism is not sound, the intensity is still not significant enough, the lack of relative independence, the press corruption still exist, some non-transparent operation of the executive authorities, laws and regulations on public opinion are not perfect, people's participation in public opinion are inadequate, and so on. According to the structure of political civilization module, by strengthening the publicity and popularity of political awareness and the construction of political system civilization, improving the overall level of political acts, this paper makes some corresponding advice of proposed measures on improving and standardizing supervision.
