Practising And Analysising Of GSM Wireless Network Optimization

With the development of GSM network in China, the amount of the users of GSM is over 0.4 billion by the end of 2006. Nowadays,users are paying more and more attention to the quality of GSM network due to the improvement in the society. Consequently, the operators of the mobile networks have to concentrate on the quality of GSM network. Mobile-network optimization is the most efficient and straightforward method to improve the quality of the mobile network.This thesis comprises eight chapters. Firstly, we analyze and discuss the optimization methods about the radio subsystem of GSM network, then some solving projects about the optimization of the network are put forward and finally they are verified in the pratice.In the first chapter, the present status of GSM network and the importance of network optimization are introduced briefly.In the second chapter,the development history, the system structure and every subsystem, every function entity of GSM network are introduced.In the third chapter, the basic principle of GSM network optimization are set forth. The common methods of wireless network optimization, especially drive-test, are mentioned.In the fourth chapter, the target values of GSM network optimization and the method of improvement of them, as well as the method of decrease of interference are emphasized: including connected rate, blocking rate and drop rate, are analyzed and the solving idea are put forward. Finally, the methods amending quatily of the network are set forth.In the fifth chapter,the antenna,the spread of radio wave, and the optimization method about them are discussed:the basic knowledge about antenna, the transmi ssion of radio wave and the improvement of the radio wave transmission of the base stations is discussed.In the sixth chapter, the optimization of dualfrequency network of GSM900/1800 are analyzed.As an example, the handover strategies and the method of traffic equalization about Motorola system are introduced.In the seventh chapter, the basic principle of half-rate are set forth. The solving methods including half-rate are used in our company.In the eighth chapter, based on the analysis of some examples of GSM network optimization. Then some directions for future inverstigation are put forward,which may be helpful for our further task.
