The Mylibrary Personalized Information Service System For Construction

In the network environment, the traditional information services can't cater for the users who have increasing demands for personalized information, in view of above, personalized information services have become one of the important forms to deepen library's information services and an inevitable tendency of information service's development. Some libraries in China and oversea have provide some personalization information services of which MyLibrary system is the main representatives. MyLibrary have maken a figure and demonstrated the strong vitality as soon as its naissance. MyLibrary has become one of the most successful representative personalization information services in the digital library. Therefore, researching and establishing the MyLibrary has a great significance for the establishment and development of the digital library. The ultimate aim of this thesis is to improve the levels of library information service through the researching the relevant theories and program about establishment of the MyLibrary system.The thesis apply various research methods including the document analysis, investigation, demonstration analysis, records analytic, etc, and attempts to form the model of user personalization service, analyses the method to obtain users personalization characteristic, which of those are for the sake of describing the information demand and activity precisely and insuring to carry out the the construction of the MyLibrary system. It uses metadata to describe the information resource, and introduces the RSS technology to realize the resources integration, resources management and resources issue which can solve the organizing problem of the information resource. In view of the existing condition of domestic and oversea MyLibrary system.On the position of user and surrounding the user, services and management, the thesis proposes the tentative plan of constructing the MyLibrary system.First, the thesis elaborates the background, the significance and the aim of its research. Next, the thesis elaborates the elementary theories of the MyLibrary system, including the basic concept, the function and the characteristic, the principle of work as well as the work flow and so on; then , the thesis studies the present situation of the domestic and foreign MyLibrary system, introduced the typical MyLibrary system case in the domestic and foreign libraries according to which analyzes the system frame and the related information technology, and the function in detail; and discovers some existing problems of MyLibrary system, as well as elicit the development tendencies of MyLibrary system. And then, the thesis emphatically elaborates the methods of constructing the MyLibrary system from the basic principle of construction, choice for model, technology programs, function structure module which provide the reference for library to build and maintain the MyLibrary system service system. Finally, the thesis summarizes the task and the disadvantages of it.
