Design And Implementation Of A Personalized Library Information Pushing System Based On AJAX

Since 1990s of last century, there has been a new hot wave of digital library building due to the combination of information technology and the traditional library. With the development of computer science and the upgrading of the digital library theories, there is a new change of the digital library, from the past data-centered, service-centered to the present user-centered style. It is a new hot spot for building a personalized library information pushing system to the librarians.The implementation of individual service in digital library is not unusual, but the techniques related to this system are improving constantly. The appearance of AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), which has the core idea named "Asynchronous Communication", changed Web application a lot. This technology makes it possible to realize "Server Push", which let the serve-side got the initiative of data transmission. But data mining has been researched and used for many years. According to analysis the users'Web log files, we can forecast the information the reader needed and provide the individualized service. By combining AJAX and data mining, the library message system would do well in initiatives and personalization.The paper mainly focuses on how to establish a personalized library information pushing system. To achieve the goal, the paper had analyzed the research status of information push and data mining of home and abroad. The content can be roughly divided into four parts:Firstly, the paper discussed several main technologies in details, which contains AJAX, Server Push, User Clustering and Collaborative Filter.Secondly, the paper gave an outline of the system which was going to be realized, and dedicated to solve key problems in the system.Thirdly, a system design was given in UML(Unified Modeling Language) and the personalized library information pushing system-"My Library" was implemented at last. The last part serve as the conclusion, the paper had a summary of all of the related theory, the design and implementation of the system, making a brief discussion on how to further enhance the personalized library information pushing system.
