Nowadays, X-ray image plays an important role in the field of secure detection,mediation and industry detection etc. In future, X-ray Image System will certainly to bedigitalized and networked. But, the X-ray image is useless without processing because ofthe X-ray Image's nature. In this article, we do some work on X-ray image processing,witch based on the New Digital X-ray Image System our team developed.In first part, we introduce the history and development of the X-ray imagingtechnology and the tasks of this article. In second part, we introduce the related theory ofthe X-ray, and then do some research on noise of X-ray image. In third part, we mainlydiscuss the algorithms to improve the image quality, because image noise, backgrounduniform and contrast are seriously bad. We put the focus at the Temporal RecursiveLow-Pass Filter. In fourth part, we research on the real-time X-ray image processor.Finally, we realize the algorithms of multi frame add filter, adaptable temporal recursivelow-pass filter, and gray-scale transformation on the hardware through VHDL. In the lastpart, we give out the experiment result and analysis.Aider processing, we maintain a clear-out, high contrast and mild background image,which meets the practical standards.
