Since China's reform and opening up to the outside world,accelerated by the mass-media industrialization and technologyrevolutions, China's media is narrow the gap to western media in usingcommunication technology. Whereas it is unavoidable that internationalsociety has not known us comprehensively,though CCTV's signal hascovered all the world. Some western main stream media' impression ofchina has remains in a sterotype of 10—20 years ago, prejudices andmisunderstanding such as "China threat" exists widely, which means theexternal communication of our country is insufficienty. Therefore weshould find a scientific and effective way for propaganda abroad.This thesis consists of introduction, text and conclusion.The introduction explains theoretical basis, research method,research objects and concepts and relathonship between propagandaabroad and communication.Chapter one mainly explains the significances of enforcingeffective and scientific Propaganda aboroad policy from the angle ofpromoting our country's soft power. It compares the externalcommunication strategies between China and the west and gains lessonsand experiences from west countries so as to improve our levels.Chapter two analyzes some main factors that influences ourcountry's external communication strategies and policy-making,including international situations and opportunities.Chapter three give some suggestions on internationalcommunication strategies of our country on the basis of above anslysis.Lastly it points out as a rising developing country, China needsmore "loud" but not "noisy" voice in international society, whereas westill have shortcomings in external communication and should undertakemore.
