The technique of virtual reality has already become the important direction of the development of the Internet and computer science .At present, the network-based technique of virtual reality can be mainly separated into two categories: the techniques based on the 3D model and VRML and the panoramic techniques based on the image .The VRML is a network programming language of virtual reality and 3D, it can build up a living 3D scene on the Internet to represent more enough the excellent reality and interaction in the virtual world. VRML can generate a new application of interaction, which could make the 3D model as the basic interface of the user by integrateing the 3D objects, 2D objects, texts, multimedia information and script description language etc . However, when we use the VRML to construct 3D sence, we usually need many normative data, Furthermore when we build up a complicated 3D model, the efficiency is very low . As the result we use the interface that the 3DS MAX provided to VRML, which can build up 3D model efficiently and quickly . Combining the VRML with the 3DS MAX, we could get the high performance result to realize the dynamic interaction of the virtual reality .The panoramic technique is a method arisen in recent years, which represent and render the interacting virtual scene with the realistic sense of photos .The technique bases on IBR, the main feature of the technique is that the complexity of rendering is irrelevant to the complexity of scene . The panorama mosaic is used more widely among these panoramic techniques, which mosaic multi-images with partial overlapping in the same scene, stitch seamlessly into a new panorama which can be browsed at horizontal or vertical 360 degrees all-directions .The panorama reappearanced the 3D scene, can realize the cruise in the virtual scene in the browser.The 3DS MAX could build up the model quickly and easily, on the practical base of building the cruise of the virtual campus . We emphasize to study the key technique of building the virtual scene combining the 3DS MAX with the VRML, and summarize some optimal methods on the 3D models and the VRML file under the research . We made the extensively research and experiment of the SIFT, proved the SIFT algorithm could still extract robustly the corresponding character matching points when the image was suffered the transformation, rotation, affine transformation, etc .But under the condition of the low overlap of the adjacent images, this method is out of effect. After we research the algorithm of the contour-based phase of correlation and the aligning method according to FFT based on 2-power sub-image, put forward the method of the cylindrical panorama mosaic based on 2-power square image .Blending images with the low overlap, a bright-diffuse method is put forward to remove the bright gap caused by the bright difference bwteen the adjacent images.
