The optimization of planning and scheduling arithmetic in production has been one of the study directions of ERP field, from original infinite capacity scheduling to TAPS model based on TOC being bring forward in this thesis, even optimization of the whole SCM. Many ERP systems regard MRP as nuclear arithmetic of production scheduling and main impetus of SCM. Bring forward of TAPS model realizes the optimization with conventional MRP scheduling arithmetic. The thesis mainly analyzes the current developing status of ERP application domain and the main problem and technology choke points in current overseas and domestic ERP systems construction. The author appoints that the main reason for the unreal success in ERP system construction is as follows: (1) No acquaintance with the operation flow for the developers of ERP system. As known to all, ERP system is based on the operation flow, any ERP system deviating from operation flow will not take strong effect. (2) There are many deficiency and limitation on planning and scheduling of production according to MRP application. The inaccurate planning and schedule of production will lead to confusion of the production process. In the second chapter of the thesis; the author investigates the academic frame and application system of Toyota Production System across-the-board and studies the advanced operation flow and methods which make TPS success. Presently, many ERP producers hang together Just In time (JIT) theory and balanced production idea to manage the operation flow of enterprise with TPS, then to direct the ERP system construction. In the third chapter, the author brings forward one TAPS planning and scheduling model based on Theory of Constraints (TOC) which can solve the detailed planning and scheduling problems in the mixing flow production line and then makes the theoretic demonstration and computer simulation with the TAPS model in an actual production instance. After the computer simulation, the author makes analysis with the outcome data and then draws the conclusion. In the last chapter of this thesis, the author introduces his internship experience in SiemensVDO Automotive Electronic Ltd., Company. During the course of internship, the author puts TAPS planning and scheduling model into practice in Production and Planning (PP) module of SAP system and optimizes MRP scheduling arithmetic so that greatly improving the veracity and feasibility of the planning and scheduling of the production line and then effectively reducing production cost. Substantial evidence indicates that TAPS planning and scheduling model can bring great and positive effects to production flow in enterprise especially Production and Planning (PP), Material Management (MM) and Financial/Controlling (FI/CO) models in the SAP system.
