1. The research purposeThe thesis analyzes the current situations and the developing trends of the Sichuan Broadcasting industry. Further, the thesis provides the strategies of the industry development. Ultimately, it aims to provide decision-makers in Sichuan a proposal or plan which is suitable for both Chinese and international broadcasting markets, especially for Sichuan province.2. Logical StructureThe thesis shows the current situations of the broadcasting industry in Sichuan province, China, and the rest of the world. One key point is to analyze the six problems which have become the main barriers in the development of Sichuan broadcasting industry. Further, the thesis tends to provide suggestions and a strategic plan for future industry improvement. The logical structure follows four steps: first, the writer introduces Chinese and international broadcasting market to readers. It encourages the readers to take action to improve our own broadcasting situations. Second, the writer presents the current situations of the Sichuan broadcasting industry as the reference for the readers. Third, the writer discusses the six problems in Sichuan broadcasting industry. Fourth, the write proposes an innovative and feasible developing strategic plan for the Sichuan broadcasting industry.3. Content and PerspectivesThe thesis includes three parts. First, it presents the information of Chinese and international broadcasting markets. The writer briefly introduces the importance of the radio and TV as a new industry in social economic development. Meanwhile, he lists the world leading broadcasting countries: the U.S., Japan, and Korea etc. The broadcasting development framework and blueprint of China are also discussed in this thesis.The second part is to discuss the development of the Sichuan broadcasting market. The thesis shows the information of the satellite, transmission stations, ground network coverage and program production and broadcasting. Then, the thesis analyzes the unbalanced development among audience needs, broadcasting innovation, and market growth. The major problems are as follows: first, between the marketized reform of China and the current managing system; second, between the broadcasting management and market operation; third, between the public service system and the public needs; fourth, between the coverage content and the internal coverage in broadcasting industry; fifth, between the backward rural area's infrastructure in broadcasting and the new development requirements for them; sixth, the great needs potential in the content industry and the weak production capability.The third part focuses on the strategic plan for the Sichuan broadcasting industry. The seven parts of the strategic plan include the system reform, the differences between public institution and enterprise, public service system establishment, and investment & financing system improvement, etc.4. Contribution of the thesisThis is the first thesis which proposes a strategic plan and analyzes the Sichuan broadcasting industry from the perspectives of management, operation, and market in Sichuan. The writer indicates six problems and discusses the improvement on broadcasting management system. All the opinions are first presented in China. From the perspectives of the nation and Chinese people, the thesis presents a high academic value and a very attractive writing style for readers.
