It is important for millimeter-wave technology to study millimeter-wave multiplier. The multiplier can decrease the basic oscillate frequency of the millimeter-wave equipment and expand the frequency spectrum. The advantage of microwave which includes the high frequency stabilization and modulating characteristic of microwave modulator can also are held.The work of this dissertation comes from the project "Millimeter-wave Multiplier Source", which is taken on by University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The dissertation focuses on the broad band millimeter-wave source multiplier. The dissertation depicts the diode tripler, the output frequency of that is 33GHz~50GHz, the loss is less than 25dB, the flatness is 2.5dB, the return loss is more than 6dB.The dissertation is consisted of five parts. The development of millimeter-wave technology and millimeter-wave multiplier, the significance of studying millimeter-wave multiplier and the task of design are narrated in the first part. The second part introduces the principle of passive multiplier, the advantage and disadvantage about various structures. In the third part, based on the determinate multiplier structure, diode, transmission line and filter in the structure are introduced. Therefore, it is decided that multiplier diode use beam lead Schottky-Barrier diode (SBD) transmission system chooses strip line, suspend microstripe and lower waveguide. The forth part depicts the computer aid design of tripler. The realization and test result are showed in the fifth part. In this part, the test result is analyzed comparing with the simulation result by computer.
