Taking driving axle as the research object and taking computer language as tool, the thesis study a software system for driving axle based on CATIA (Computer Aided Three Dimensional Interactive Application). CATIA is a three-dimensional engineering software, it can provide the functions of the three-dimensional sculpting and the interaction for secondary development. So the software system provide a quickly, expediently and accurately environment for engineer.Based on the software engineering idea, the design ideas for this software system are expanded in four parts: concept design, variational design of parts, establish information model of assembly and parametric generative part structural analysis of driving axle parts, finally give the example of this software system. Effective approaches are put forward which to design variational part and establish information model of assembly. Analyze the force of driving axle parts, establish the module of intensity check, put forward the idea of parametric finite element method, use this method to analyze the housing of drive axle and axle shaft which the force is complex, provide advice or information for structure improvement and series design. By relatively corporation using, the software system achieved primary demand.
