Charge of electric fare has gone through Manual meter reading system, IC card prepaid and HHU. In 1990s, our country started researching long-distance electric AMRS, and now many companies have succeeded in devising these productions. There are many different kinds of schemes for AMRS, and the main difference is between the bottom communicate channel(between Collecter and Concentrator) and the top communicate channel(between Concentrator and Computer).This paper puts forward to long-distance electric AMRS of combining low voltage power line carrier(the bottom) with GPRS(the top) wireless data communication to re, alize electric measure system autoimmunization.Power line medium is not suitable for communication. Firstly this paper analyzes the characteristics of power line medium. Having researched on signal transmission characteristics of low voltage power line (input impedance, attenuation and disturbance). In this paper, we compare the advantage and disadvantage of power line carrier communication technology using three ways: narrow band communication,Spread Spectrum and OFDM. Combined with the concrete conditions of our country, we choose Spread Spectrum as the bottom communication. Based on it, we choose a spread spectrum chip SC1128 to design modem of this chip, and analyze both hardware and software of Collector and Concentrator in details. In order to realize data remote transmission, this paper adopts GPRS wireless data communication as the top communicate channel, and summarizes GPRS technology and constituent project of GPRS transportation network. Also it emphasizes in introducing hardware and software design project of the GPRS wireless transmission module. In the end, we introduce software module of the computer administrative system in this paper.The research of this system prove that AMRS based on the technology of low power line carrier and GPRS is feasible and effective and it will stand for the new development direction of AMRS.
