Sound is always a necessary part of art, especially multimedia art. For animation on which people put most focus on image quality, sound is very important too. Excellent music and sound effect will give animation additional glory, will solidify atmosphere of story. Contrarily, bed sound work will destroy audiences'feeling about story even image quality. So, sound work is receiving more and more attention in entire animation production. Nowadays, as significant development of computer technology, animators put more focus on digital works. Numbers of animation, especially 3D animation, generate software have been established. The same thing has happened in sound work field. However, most animation software and sound process software are inconnected. That means animation work and sound work are regarded as two individual works. In fact, when we process sound works under this type of work mode, some problems will be encountered in some situations. Since both of sound and image are important methods of story telling. When artist design content of image he (she) also have idea about sound. Sometimes, sound must be matched with image strictly; this problem will become very complex in some extreme conditions. Sometimes, vivid environment sound effect is needed. Virtual objects and characters should sound convincingly like they are moving in real nature and make audience feel where they are. However, not all projects have enough experts and budget to produce the vivid environmental sound effects at all. Even sometimes, artists may have some wonderful inspirations on sound, they may have special request about relationship between sound and image. All the works mentioned above are difficult things if they are delivered to sound effect producer after animation completed. In order to resolve those problems mentioned above, I designed a solution that embed sound process into three-dimensional animation work flow. Data of three-dimensional animation can be share with sound creation and process. Creation of sound can be finished as same time as three-dimensional animation is completed. This solution makes animation and sound can control each other. In this thesis, I will introduce physical theories of sound's creation and diffusion in real world firstly. Provide fundamental theories for acoustics simulation system. Secondly, the mechanism of working of Maya, the most popular software in animation industry, will be analyzed and its expansibility will be studied too. Those works will confirm the feasibility of constructing acoustics simulation system in Maya. Finally, I will design the frame of whole acoustics simulation system according to Maya's working mechanism and realize it using C++ low level audio programming and relative mathematic theories.
