Animation is one of the key technologies in the graphic engine, in the animation control domain, the most complex part is the motion control of intelligence character. The intelligence of individual character based on both environments awareness and self-knowledge, in addition, motion management, path management, character motion module, character's physics model are also needed to control animation character produce reactive behavior. As the simple key-frame animation and motion capture data is hard to handle complex motion control. The target of this article is through research animation blend, physics engine and motion management in 3D environment, in the end, gives a framework to implement those technologies, improve the realism of animation.In this article, I first introduced the character animation and motion control technologies, by analysis their advantage and disadvantage, we can figure out why the research of dynamic character animation is necessary. After this, I summarized the usages of physics engine in dynamic animation, include its part in dynamic engine and establish of the interactive physics environment. Then, I discussed the center of dynamic animation: set up dynamic body model, include: skeleton, joint, muscle and dynamic constraint.The research of this article is base on 863 project: Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) development platform key research (No.2005AA114080). In this project, we accomplished a map editor which make up of graphic engine, sound engine and physics engine. In the animation module of this editor, we implement the technologies of skeleton animation, animation blend, physics model of walking, AI management, etc. In the end, we accomplished a tiger chase deer scene in this editor to show the motion management we made. The technologies used in this scene include: group behavior, animation blend, animation based on physics model, character motion management, and the outcome motion is quite realism.The main technologies in this article include: animation blend, forward/inverse kinematics, physics interactive, humanoid dynamic.
