It had been developed by American about the high-tech product of uncooled focal plane array thermal imaging system since 1990's. Uncooled focal plane array thermal imaging system is used widely in both military field and civilian field for its one of the focused of current development in the field of thermal imaging system. Depending on lower cost, higher dependability, smaller bulk and lower dissipation, the uncooled infrared thermal imaging system holds important position in infrared fields.Embedded system design has become an emphasis with the fast development of information technology. It seems that a new age called post-PC era is incoming. The core of embedded system is embedded micro processor. The characteristic of it is real-time, multi-tasks processing, high integration, storage protection and low power. The embedded operating system can manage complex system resource effectively, and do all of operating system tasks just as process management, interrupt processing and so on.This subject uses Intel corporation's product PXA255 chip as embedded micro processor. This design is an embedded infrared imaging system which needs to grasp infrared thermal imaging and embedded system technology based on Windows CE real-time operating system. In order to acquiring analog images signal from read out integrated circuit, the timing logic of microbolometer focal plane array driver circuit is developed by a programmable logic device. The fixed external bias voltages and the tuned external bias voltages of infrared detector power signal are designed by step-down voltage regulator and tuned resistance. The temperature of focal plane array can be stable, using single chip Thermal Electrical Cooler to design temperature controlling circuit. The infrared images signal should be digitized based on high speed analog digital converter. Under the Windows CE 4.2 IDE, this subject designs the infrared imaging device stream interface driver based on PXA255 processor, in order that application program can implement the operation of images collection and storage. Through system test, this infrared imaging system can collect infrared imaging real-time and display on PC via 1394 interface. The characteristic of this design are as below: (1) The application of ARM embedded technology on infrared imaging system, this can generate new research method and new technical way on next generation thermal camera system. (2) The embedded application in the infrared system of information of imaging technology, establishing the foundation with intelligently and miniaturization. (3) The main objective of this thesis is to accomplish the research and design of the system characterizing its powerful function and high performance-to-price ratio. This have the value of scientific research and have wide market prospects.
