In An International Context, Case Studies, The People's Daily Reported In Genetically Modified Food And Crops

In the work of the science communication, the reports of the GM (Genetic Modification)foods and corps are quite worth noticing. Focusing on the theme, the presented paper is divided into four parts.Firstly, based on the international authoritative investigation, the paper has summarized the reports of the GM foods and corps and the issues related.Secondly, related to the reports of the GM foods and corps, the paper has also summed up and introduced the development of the scientific research and the latest connotation; furthermore, it makes clear the responsibility of the media in the public understanding of science, especially the key points different from popularization of science to highlight the problems of public participation and the rights to know the unknown.Thirdly, based on the former work, circling around the reports of the GM foods and corps in the domestic important newspaper-People's Daily (1995-2006), the paper gives the demonstration of the case analysis.Finally, from the comparison of the cases in Chinese mainstream media-People's Daily with the situation abroad, I have found and noticed some problems existed in the scientific spreading in our Chinese media and give a preliminary analysis and discussion to these problems and the causes behind.
