TFT-LCD has the characteristics of thin volume, light weight, excellent display quality, low consumption, long service life, non X-ray radiation and be easy to realize mass production, etc. It has been extensively applied on various products, including almost all the main electronic products of the information society, such as, television, computer, cellular phone, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), GPS (Global Position System), and so on. This is any other FPD (Flat Panel Display) and CRT (Cathode ray tube) can catch up with.At present time, the LCM (LCD Module) industry, especially the little size LCM using for cellular phone, is developing very fast. Every company of LCM wants to develop a set of test system urgently. This is the background of my paper. The embedded microprocessor is evolved from CPU used in general computer, but different from general processor, the embedded microprocessor only reserved the hardware which closely relate with application. So it can use low consumption and resource to satisfy embedded application. Currently, embedded microprocessor has already been extensively applied in industry control, consumer electronics, the network equipments, etc.The aim of this paper is to design a test platform which can test little size LCM, based on the embedded microprocessor LPC2210. The test platform is used to perform LCM's promotion test and to exhibite the display effect of LCM when introduce new product to customer.Firstly, in this paper, the display principle and the driver principle of LCD are introduced; especially the construction and the drive principle of TFT-LCD are introduced in detail. Then, the hardware of LPC2210 is expatiated. Afterwards, the test platform is designed, taking LPC2210 as the core. The hardware circuits of the platform include power supply circuit, reset circuit, clock circuit, JTAG interface circuit, UART interface circuit, storage circuit (SRAM, FLASH and CF card interface), and LCD interface circuit. The software design of the test platform including TFT-LCD driver program,and CF card driver program. Finally some problem which occurred in debugging process is introduced and solved.
