With the development of sensors technology and communication technology, wireless sensor network (WSN) is proposed and more and more popular. WSN is a wireless network formed by a large number of cheap micro sensor nodes communicating with each other through wireless waves. It has a bright future in the enviorment monitoring, prediction of earthquake and climate, exploration of underearth, water and outer space.Network protocol is the fundamental technology for the WSN. The efficient, reliable, energy saving network protocol has very important value in scientific research. This article gives a brief introduction about the architecture of WSN. We analyze the classic protocols in the network layer and track the newest achievements in this field. Then we propose a network routing protocol CBLR based on cluster and LEPS. CBLR routing protocol reserves the advantages of the hierarchy routing protocol in reducing energy consumption and prolonging network lifetime. It also simplifies the procedure of cluster head election and cluster restructure, making it easier for implementation. The concept of NeighbourMap is introduced into WSN. The competition for the cluster head is no longer random, shape of the cluster and lifetime of WSN is improved. CBLR also provides better support for the mobile nodes. The article gives a detailed description of the design notion and the routing arithmetic of CBLR. Framework of CBLR's implementation, function of each core module and the interfaces between them is introduced. The key data structures like NeighbourMap and the formats of the messages are discussed. The scheme to test CBLR is shown and the test result is analyzed.Result of the test shows that CBLR routing protocol has reached our requirements. Compared with LEPS and Diffusion routing protocols, it has great improvements in energy saving, restructure time, losing rate of data packets.
