Wireless sensor network,a new generation of sensor network was formed by the combination of sensors embedded calculation,network and wireless communication technology.The wireless sensor network is widely applied in military,commercial, medical and environment monitoring fields,because it is flexible and convenient.It is the key point to save energy and prolong the lifetime of network in the research of wireless sensor network.In the article,we do deeply research on the route protocols of wireless sensor networks and make some improvement.Firstly,several classical routing protocols are compared in this paper according to the demand in WSN routing protocol designing.Then the advantages of LEACH in practical application are concluded by simulation analysis.Secondly,the defects of LEACH are summarized by deeply researching in it and doing simulations.Then the paper lists some typical strategies that improve LEACH in different angles.Thirdly,the base station is always very far away from the network in real application scenarios such as forest fire remote inspection,.As a result the cluster headers must communication directly with the base station through long distance in LEACH.Base on the energy model used in WSN,it will cost the CH a lot of energy and makes it die quickly.What's more,in classical LEACH the optimal number of CHs is 5,it is not enough for the application because the area of each cluster will become too large due to the small number of CHs so that the member nodes have to communicate with the CH with large amount of energy within a cluster.As a result,it brings out the strategy of mini-hop to build the multihop transmission between CHs to fix the problem in LEACH and make it practical for real applications.And at last we compare improved LEACH to the original one in network topology,total energy dissipation and network living time by simulation in NS.The result has shown that the improved algorithm is more energy efficient than the original LEACH.In the last part of this article,data fusion algorithm q-digest and LEACH are combined together,and geographic information is brought into q-digest.It proves by simulation that after the improved data fusion,sensor network can save more energy and the redundant data has been reduced.The user can get data from the whole network as well as where the data comes out so that perform much better in forest fire remote inspection.
