The flat panel display (FPD) technology has gradually evolved into a mainstreamdisplay technology in place of CRT display. Liquid crystal display (LCD)technology isone of the maturest FPD technology and is widely used in society. LCDproduct hasmany superior characteristics such as smaller size, better image quality, lower radiationand power consumption compared with CRT product, so there aregreat possibilities thatit would become a major display technology in place of CRT. A multifunctional LCDsystem solution which based on PW1306 and VCT3833 is developed in this paper.The hardware board includes several major components: TV tuner, a decoderof video signal, a TMDS receiver, an A/D conversion chip, a LCD interfacing andcontrolling chip, an On Screen Display (OSD) chip. This system can recognizeautomatically all kinds of video sources (PAL/NTSC/SECAM), PC signals of differentmodes (from VGA to SXGA) and digital TV signals. These signals will be processedrespectively and exported in needed format displayed on LCD panels.Different signalresources can be selected easily. The circuits and relative software of all the mainmodules of the system are discussed detailedly in this paper. The final result of thedebug proves that this solution is reliable, flexible and has a high performance/priceratio.
