Into 21st Century, infofization has been the notable feature of global economic and social development. Our country is vigorously promoting the construction of enterprise infofization, the enterprise input of IT is increasing highly. How to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of IT investment is a very important problem which still has not been solved effectively. At present, Chinese government departments and many businesses and community groups have recognized the problem, and are actively exploring and trying to various measures and methods of improvement. IT service management is a relatively mature IT management, and has gotten more and more attention in China.Machinery manufacturing, as Chinese national economic development foundation, to establish the machinery manufacturing characteristics of IT service management, to push the development of the machinery manufacturing characteristics of IT service management, will be the important components of Chinese infofization development.ITIL is the most international widely and best IT service management, but ITIL is based on the western culture management, which is different with Chinese enterprise in the cultural, commercial concept, operational method and etc. Localizing the ITIL, especially in the machinery manufacturing, and providing the mature and effective methods and theoretical guidance to the construction of infofization of the machinery manufacturing, are the problems that Chinese IT need to solve urgently.This thesis introduces the concept, scope, development, etc. of IT service management firstly, and then introduces the ITIL standards and the problems and difficulties that ITIL faces in domestic machinery manufacturing. At last, this thesis summed up the basic methodology which focus on domestic machinery manufacturing. This methodology can be summarized in the following four steps: 1. Evaluating the enterprise situation; 2. Rebuilding the construction of enterprise IT, strengthening the infrastructure construction and building the awareness of ITIL; 3. Perfecting the SLA and CMDB basically; 4. Implementation of the ITIL service support module. The case of this thesis, which is based on the this methodology, and combined with the actual situation, analyses the implementation of ITIL in the China Branch of Atlas Copco group, and deeply studies the way how to solve the localization problem of ITIL in domestic machinery manufacturing. This case validates the effectiveness of the methodology summed up by this thesis, and pushes the process of development and perfect the national and the industry nature of IT service management.
